Attention 35W Coalition Members:
We wanted to alert you that the
on-ramp to northbound IH 35W, just north of Meacham Boulevard, will close Sunday,
December 4th at 9 p.m., with plans to re-open a temporary ramp
within a few months. This closure is part of the North Tarrant Express project and
is the next step in building new direct connectors for new managed toll lanes
from IH 35W to Loop 820.
Travelers needing to access
northbound IH 35W from the Meacham Boulevard area are encouraged to travel
southbound on IH 35W to Papurt Drive, exit, and u-turn back to northbound IH
35W. Access to southbound IH 35W from Meacham Boulevard will be maintained. The
northbound IH 35W frontage road to eastbound Loop 820 will also remain open.
The North Tarrant Express project,
which began in late 2010, will include reconstruction of frontage lanes and
main lanes on IH 820 and SH 121/183 (Airport Freeway), as well as the addition
of managed toll lanes. The 13-mile project corridor extends from the IH 35W/IH
820 interchange in Fort Worth east to Industrial Boulevard in Euless.
